• This plant is most toxic to cattle and horses; the toxic agent is pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Poisoning is rare under good range condition when other available forage is present.
• Is a many-stemmed evergreen composite. The stems and leaves are gray-green.
• Growth 1 to 2 feet tall.
• Flowers March to November.
• Adapted to rocky, sandy or gravelly soil of dry upland prairies and roadsides.
